01Purpose of The Collective
The Collective is a private, invitation-only community for senior business leaders convened by Ethos. It exists to enable trusted relationships, meaningful conversations and long-term collaboration between its members.
02Invitation-only membership
Membership is by invitation. Invitations are extended at the discretion of Ethos and its appointed directors. There is no automatic entitlement to membership and no right of appeal against an invitation not being extended.
03Membership eligibility
To hold membership you must be an individual (not a company) acting in your personal capacity, aged 18 or over, and holding a senior executive or comparable leadership role. You must accept and abide by these Terms, the Privacy Policy and the Member Pledge.
04Member responsibilities
You agree to conduct yourself in a manner consistent with the standing of The Collective, to keep your profile information accurate and current, and to notify us promptly of any material change to your role or contact details.
05Professional conduct
Members are expected to behave with professionalism, courtesy and integrity in every interaction with fellow members, guests, partners and Ethos staff, whether online, at events or in private correspondence introduced through The Collective.
06Confidentiality
Conversations, introductions and materials shared within The Collective are provided in confidence. Members may not repeat, publish, forward, record or attribute another member''s contribution outside The Collective without that member''s explicit consent. The Chatham House Rule applies by default.
07Respect for members
Every member is entitled to be treated with respect. Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, personal attacks and behaviour that undermines the dignity of another member will not be tolerated.
08Networking etiquette
Follow up on introductions promptly and professionally. Honour commitments made to fellow members. Decline gracefully when you cannot help. Never use The Collective''s network for spam, bulk outreach, or purposes unrelated to genuine relationship-building.
09Events
Attendance at Collective events is subject to specific event terms, capacity and etiquette. Please attend the events you have registered for; if plans change, release your place in good time so another member may take it.
10Introductions
Introductions offered through The Collective are given in good faith and in confidence. They are not endorsements of the commercial merits of any opportunity. Both parties are expected to conduct their own due diligence before entering any commercial arrangement.
11Commercial behaviour
The Collective is a place for thinking and relationships, not selling. Direct commercial solicitation of other members is not permitted. Commercial opportunities should emerge naturally from relationships or through the curated opportunity channels operated by Ethos.
12No unsolicited selling
Sending unsolicited pitches, sales collateral or bulk outreach to other members is a breach of these Terms and may lead to suspension or termination of membership.
13Intellectual property
All materials produced by The Collective and Ethos — including briefings, event content, publications and platform design — remain the intellectual property of Ethos. Members are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use these materials for their own benefit as members of The Collective.
14Member-generated content
By posting content within The Collective (including questions, comments, profile information and contributions to Ask the Room), you grant Ethos a worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display and use that content for the purpose of operating The Collective. You retain ownership of your content and remain responsible for it.
15Suspension
Ethos may suspend a member''s access to The Collective, without notice, where it reasonably believes these Terms, the Code of Conduct or the Member Pledge have been breached, or where suspension is necessary to protect the community or investigate a concern.
16Termination
Membership may be terminated by Ethos where a breach is material, repeated or otherwise incompatible with continued membership. Members may resign their membership at any time by written notice to Ethos.
17Appeals
A member whose membership has been terminated may request a review by writing to the Directors of The Collective within 30 days. The review will be conducted by a director who was not involved in the original decision. The outcome of a review is final.
18Privacy
Your use of The Collective is subject to our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
19Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ethos and its directors, employees and partners exclude liability for any loss arising out of relationships, introductions, opportunities or content encountered through The Collective, save for liability which cannot lawfully be excluded.
20Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to members and the effective date updated. Continued use of The Collective after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
21Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
